Learning log-based automatic group formation: system design and classroom implementation study

Abstract Collaborative learning in the form of group work is becoming increasingly significant education since interpersonal skills count modern society. However, teachers often get overwhelmed by logistics involved conducting any work. Valid support for executing and managing such activities a timely informed manner becomes imperative. This research introduces an intelligent system focusing on formation which consists parameter setting module member visualization panel where results created are shown to user can be graded. The supports applying algorithms actual log data thereby simplifying process saving time them. A pilot study primary school mathematics class proved have positive effect students’ engagement affections while participating based system-generated groups, thus providing empirical evidence practice Computer-Supported Learning (CSCL) systems.
